Sena Kalyan Insurance Company Ltd’s (SKICL) Board of Directors has recommended a 12 per cent cash dividend for the year ended December 31, 2022, according to a DSE filing.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) for FY21 were Tk 3.83 which declined to Tk 2.86 in FY22. But in both fiscals, the dividend allotment was Tk 1.20.

Net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 20.17 in the last fiscal which was Tk 26.99 in FY21. Its Net Operating Cash Flow per Share (NOCFPS) of Tk 8.89 in FY21 dropped to Tk 4.45 in FY22.

The company stated that the reason behind the decrease in EPS was primarily due to the fact that the company increased its number of shares for trading.

Despite the decrease in profits, the board of directors has recommended the dividend disbursement for the year ended. In 2021, the company also disbursed a 12 per cent cash dividend showing consistency. The total number of issues of SKICL is 4 crore. 60 per cent of those are mutually held by sponsors and directors. Institutional investors and public domain accounts for 4.13 per cent and 35.87 per cent respectively.

The final approvals of the dividends will be announced at the annual general meeting set on 9 May and the record date has been set on 9 April.
