Share trading on both bourses will take place from 10:00am to 1:20pm without any break during the holy month of Ramadan instead of the regular trading period from 10:00am to 2:30pm.
The securities regulator Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) in an office order on Monday rescheduled the trading hour for the holy month.
Additionally, the stock exchanges’ offices will remain open till 1:30pm during the Ramadan instead of the regular time. This move is aimed at enabling employees and traders to observe their religious duties and obligations during the holy month, according to the BSEC statement.
The DSE trading and office hours will return to the normal time after the Eid-ul-Fitr vacation. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) will also follow the DSE trading and office time, the statement read.
