Bata Shoe to give total 365% cash dividend for 2022

Shoe maker Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Limited will give a total of 365 per cent cash dividend to its shareholders for the year ended on December 31, 2022.

The board of directors of the multination company recommended a 105 per cent final cash dividend for the year, as per a filing posted on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website on Sunday.

Earlier, it had paid a 260 per cent interim cash dividend for the period of the first three quarters of the year.

The shoe maker will hold its annual general meeting (AGM) on July 13, while the record date for the AGM has been fixed as May 18. Because of the disclosure, there was no price limit on the company's share trading on Sunday.

However, shares of the multinational company fell by 2.22 per cent yesterday, making it the day’s eighth top loser of the trading floor.

On Sunday, Bata Shoe's shares closed at Tk 953 per share on the DSE trading floor, which was Tk 974.80 in the previous trading session.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) for the year ending in December 2022 stood at Tk 29.98, while its net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 252.16.
