Two insurers – Union Insurance and Sonar Bangla Insurance – have declared dividends to their investors for the year ending in December 2022.
Of them, Sonar Bangla Insurance recommended a 15 per cent dividend (10 per cent cash and 5 per cent stock), while Union Insurance declared a 10 per cent cash dividend, as per separate disclosures filed with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Union Insurance will hold an annual general meeting (AGM) on September 20, and it has fixed the record date for July 3.
The insurer reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 1.77 for the year ending in December 2022, up from Tk 1.58 for 2021.
The company’s EPS for January-March 2023 was Tk 0.89, which was Tk 0.59 for January-March 2022.
On the other hand, Sonar Bangla Insurance will hold an AGM on September 21. The insurer’s record date has been set for July 20.
The company reported consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 2.03 for the year ending in December 2022, up from Tk 2.05 for 2021.
