BATBC declares dividend for 2021 

British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company (BATBC) has recommended 150 per cent or Tk 15 final cash dividend for 2021.

However, the total cash dividend will be 275 per cent or Tk 27.50 for the year ended on December 31, 2021, including 125 per cent or Tk 12.50 interim cash dividend, which has already been paid, said the company in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday.

The tobacco manufacturer has reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 27.72, net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk 68.13, and NOCFPS of Tk 14.73 for the year ended on December 31, 2021, as against Tk 20.16, Tk 62.96 and Tk 27.81 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

There was no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company on Thursday following its corporate declaration.

On Thursday, its share price, however, fell 2.64 per cent to Tk 627.5 on this day on the DSE.

The annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on March 30 at 10:30 am, using a digital platform. The record date is on March 3.

The company also disbursed 600 per cent cash dividend and 200 stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2020.

The sponsor-directors own 72.91 per cent stake in BATBC, while the government owns 0.64 per cent, institutional investors 11.94 per cent, foreign investors 8.10 per cent and the general public 6.41 per cent as of January 31, 2022, the DSE data shows.
