Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has lowered the circuit breaker limit to 5 per cent from the existing 2 per cent with effect from Thursday.
The stock market regulator issued the order on Wednesday.
Previously, the lower circuit breaker was at 10 per cent but with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the share market has become unstable.
