Don’t invest under social media influence: DSE

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has urged everyone to refrain from investing in the country’s prime bourse under the influence of various pages or groups on social media Facebook, as these are spreading baseless and exaggerated info to destabilise the stock market.

DSE has noticed that in recent times, a number of dishonest individuals have been spreading rumours on social media centring the capital market. They are also using the DSE’s name to circulate misleading information, affecting the investors, read a press release.

These Facebook pages and fake accounts include DSE Share Alo, DSE Gambling Item, Share Bazar, Share Market Superstar, DSE Investor Club, and Suraiya Sumi.

These pages are encouraging people to buy shares of various companies by disseminating exaggerated information. The DSE authorities will not be responsible anyway if individuals are affected financially by the fake pages or groups.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange will go for strict action against these pages and groups, it added.
