DSE fails to stay afloat

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) continued its downward trend for the sixth consecutive day on Wednesday.

Most sectors drag down by banks, textile and NBFIs were down when the bourse ended the day’s trading.

The benchmark DSEX index shed 14.39 points or 0.23 per cent to settle at 6,138.

The Shariah-based DSES index lost 1.79 points or 0.13 per cent to 1,346 while the blue-chip

index DS30 dropped by 7.15 points or 0.32 per cent to 2,206.

Of the issues traded, 110 advanced, 218 declined, and 53 remained unchanged.
