Dhaka Stock Exchange has lauded the proposed national budget for 2021-22 fiscal year terming it capital market friendly budget.
It thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal for proposing a several positive initiatives in the proposed budget.
The stock exchange welcomed the reduction of corporate tax rate by 2.5 per cent for listed companies.
The finance minister unveiled the proposed budget of Tk 603,681 crore for 2021-22 fiscal year at the national parliament on Thursday.
The minister proposed to bring tax rates for non-listed companies to 30 per cent from 32.5 per cent, and for listed companies to 22.5 per cent from 25 per cent.
Meanwhile, talking to The Business Post, Sharif Anwar Hossain, President of DSE Brokers Association said that a reduced corporate tax rate would encourage multinational and financially strong companies to get listed with stock exchanges.
