Stocks fall, dragged down by insurance

Most sectors led by insurance, NBFIs and engineering were down on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday.

At close, the benchmark DSEX index shed 27 points or 0.42 per cent to settle at 6,403.

The Shariah-based DSES index lost 1 point or 0.10 per cent to 1,408 while the blue-chip index DS30 dropped 2 points or 0.09 per cent to 2,363.

The DSE turnover stood at Tk 779 crore.

Of the issues traded, 89 advanced, 245 declined, and 45 remained unchanged.
