Stocks shed for the second consecutive day on Monday as investors continued selling their shares for profit booking and rebalancing their existing holdings.
DSEX, the benchmark index on the Dhaka Stocks Exchange (DSE), dropped 9.9 points or 0.15 per cent to close at 6,528.
Among other indices, the DS30, the blue-chip index, went down 16.67 points or 0.70 per cent to 2, 356 and the DSES, the Shariah-based index, shed 2.68 points or 0.18 per cent to 1,432.
Turnover, another key indicator of the market, stood at 1360.7 crores today, down24.3 per cent compared to the tally of Tk1691.6 in the last trading session.
Out of 378 stocks traded, 124 issues advanced, 115 declined and 139 did not see any price movement.
