Investors at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) showed little interest in pouring in fresh investment at the bourse on Wednesday, giving a slight push to the benchmark index at the end of the day’s trading.
The lack of enthusiasm from investors came as the prime bourse ended the week on Wednesday as DSE will remain closed on Thursday marking the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
DSEX also witnessed similar nominal rise in the last two days.
On Wednesday, benchmark index DSEX gained 0.11 points or 0.001 per cent.
However, Shariah-based DSES index lost 2.34 points or 0.16 per cent and the blue-chip index DS30 shed 0.48 points or 0.01 per cent.
The daily turnover at the DSE fell by Tk 230 crore as of Wednesday with a turnover of Tk 835 crore, compared to Tk 1,065 crore the previous day.
Out of the issues traded on Wednesday, 119 advanced, 228 declined, and 33 remained unchanged.
