Islami Insurance declares 12.5% cash dividend

Islami Insurance Bangladesh Limited, a publicly-traded general insurance company, has declared cash dividends for the year 2021.

In a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Monday, Islami Insurance Board of Directors has recommended a 12.50 per cent or Tk 1.25 per share cash dividend to its shareholders for the year, while the record date has been set as June 20.

These are the company’s highest cash dividend figures since 2017.

The earnings per share (EPS) of Islami Insurance increased 57 per cent to Tk 3.11 in the year ended on December 31, 2021, which was Tk 1.98 in the previous year.

Its Net Operating Cash Flow per Share (NOCFPS) also increased to Tk 6.31 in 2021, from Tk 5.01 in 2020.

The company’s Net Asset Value (NAV) per share increased to Tk 17.51 from Tk 14.45 in 2020.

Islami Insurance had declared a 10 per cent stock dividend for the previous year.

Its share price rose 3.12 per cent to Tk 43 on the DSE, in the first one hours into the trade on Monday.

The price moved between Tk 39.20 and Tk 79.60 throughout the last year.
