DEX Bangladesh, a joint venture partner of Hong Kong-based Kingdom Technology, met with Professor Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu, chairman of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Wednesday.
David Ding, Chairman of Kingdom Technology, was accompanied by Syed Anwar Hossain, CEO of DEX Bangladesh Tech Co Ltd Bangladesh Office.
Professor Babu welcomed the delegates and provided an overview of DSE's activities. He acknowledged Bangladesh's capital market as an emerging market with advanced trading technology, according to a press release.
He identified opportunities for further technological advancements across various sectors and emphasised the importance of collaboration to leverage technology for market growth. Professor Babu also highlighted the government's vision, aligned with "Smart Bangladesh" initiatives, to make the capital market more inclusive.
DEX Bangladesh Tech Company presented some proposals about playing a role in the development of the capital market of Bangladesh and David also expressed interest in renting space within DSE's state-of-the-art data centre.
DSE chairman acknowledged the presence of unused space within the data centre which is currently under development. He assured plans to finalise the development process and establish a defined procedure for renting out the unused space.
