Two life insurers – Meghna Life Insurance Co and Sonali Life Insurance Company – have declared a 20 per cent cash dividend each for their shareholders for year ended in December 2022.
The board of directors of Meghna Life Insurance recently recommended this cash dividend, as per a disclosure filed with the Dhaka bourse Sunday.
The life insurer will hold an annual general meeting (AGM) on September 21 to secure approval on the declared dividend. The record date has been fixed at August 20 to determine the eligible shareholders for the dividend.
Meghna life has been providing life insurance services since 1996. Listed on the bourses in 2005, the company has a paid-up capital of Tk 25.33 crore, while its authorised capital is Tk 60 crore.
On the other hand, Sonali Life insurance will hold an annual general meeting (AGM) on September 28, while its record date has been fixed at August 20.
The Meghna Life Insurance shares closed at Tk 86 each, while Sonali Life insurance shares ended at Tk 86.60 per share on the DSE trading floor on Sunday.
