Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam on Sunday said the number of day traders in the capital market is higher compared to those of investors.
“As a result, when the stock market falls for a few days, panic increases (among them) due to incurring losses,” he said while addressing an event of the Capital Market Journalists' Forum (CMJF) in Dhaka.
Shibli said, “Some negative news about the bourse is published all of a sudden when our efforts are on to put the capital market in order. This destroys the confidence of investors and then we have to think about the capital market afresh.”
The BSEC chairman requested the journalists to publish accurate news in the interests of the capital market.
