Dhaka stocks closed marginally lower on Sunday, the first trading session of the week, as investors went for booking modest profits.
The benchmark DSEX index declined 13 points or 0.18 per cent to settle at 7,237 while the Shariah DSES Index fell 6 points or 0.4 per cent to 1,574 points and the blue chip comprising DS30 index shed 7 points or 0.29 per cent to 2,665.
However, the turnover increased sharply to Tk 2,257 crore, up from Tk 1,852 crore of the previous session.
Out of the issues traded, 113 advanced, 223 declined, and 33 remained unchanged.
