Stocks extend losses

Dhaka stocks extended losses on Wednesday with the benchmark DSEX index falling below 6,900-mark.

At close, the DSEX fell 56 points or 0.80 per cent to close at 6,898.

Shariah-based DSES index declined 7 points or 0.47 per cent to 1,461 while the blue-chip index DS30 lost 20 points or 0.77 per cent to 2,585.

The DSE turnover stood at 1,154 crore.

Out of the 375 issues traded, 89 advanced, 246 declined, and 40 remained unchanged.
