Dhaka stocks opened steeply higher on Wednesday led by financials, pharmaceuticals, insurers and IT.
In the first 45 minutes into the trade, the benchmark DSEX index rose 59 points or 0.86 per cent to 6,927.
Shariah-based DSES index added 14 points or 1 per cent to 1,469 while the blue-chip index DS30 gained 22 points or 0.84 per cent to 2,638.
