After witnessing a downward trend in the two sessions, stocks today rebounded in the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges as investors remained active on sector-wise issues.
After witnessing volatility, DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 84.81 points or 1.45 per cent to settle at 5,952.77, reports BSS.
Two other indices also ended higher with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, rising 63 points to finish at 2,197.04 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 14.99 points to close at 1,270.34.
Out of 397 issues traded, 116 advanced, 239 declined and 42 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
Daily trade turnover increased to Tk 12,439.89 million on the country's premier bourse, which was Tk 10,150.13 million in the previous session of the week.
GP dominated the turnover chart, closely followed by BRAC Bank, UCB, BXPHARMA and Jamuna Bank.
United Finance was the day's top gainer, rising 9.93 per cent, while Islami Bank was the worst loser, shedding 3.33 per cent.
The Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) also rebounded with the CSE All Share Price Index - CASPI - gaining 132.56 points to settle at 17,142.04 and the Selective Categories Index - CSCX rising 82.22 points to close at 10,325.27.
Of the issues traded, 148 declined, 71 advanced and 21 issues remained unchanged on the CSE.
The port city's bourse traded 72.60 lakh shares and mutual fund units with a turnover value of Tk 18.13 crore.
