Dhaka stocks saw a steep rise at open on Wednesday as investors react positively to the central bank's agreement to relax the bank's exposure to stock investment.
In the first hour into the trade, the benchmark DSEX index rose 120.65 points or 1.79 per cent to 6,823.
Shariah-based DSES index increased 25.43 points or 1.30 per cent to 1,430, while the blue-chip index DS30 gained 49.01 points or 1.94 per cent to 2,565.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Bank agreed to ease the bank's exposure to the stock market following a meeting with the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission.
