Stock markets on Sunday finished the session of the week flat as the major indices of the both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges showed slightly down amid lower activities of large-cap securities.
The benchmark index of the Dhaka bourse closed the day with 0.30 point down at 5,734.97. The blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 11.64 points down at 2,094.80. But, the Shariah DSES closed the day with 5.66 points up at 1,263.48, reports BSS.
Out of 400 issues traded, 233 closed lower, 109 advanced and 58 issues remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
The major gaining issues were ISLAMIBANK, KTL, ISLAMICFIN, LOVELLO and GENEXIL while the major losing companies were HAMI, FIRSTFIN, SP Ceramics, DOMINAGE and QUASEMIND.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 3.02 points down at 16,188.87.
At CSE, 227 issues were traded. Of those, 95 closed higher and 106 closed lower when 38.33 lakh shares worth Tk 17.87 crore changed hands.
