The cashless land development tax service will come into effect from Pohela Boishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year, on April 14, said an official release on Wednesday.
The cashless land development tax system is being implemented in line with the announcement made by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the inaugural function of the national land conference in the capital on March 29.
In that programme, the premier announced to introduce cashless land development tax from the beginning of the Bengali New Year on April 14, this year.
A public notice has already been issued by the Ministry of Land in this regard.
"Decision has been taken to realize the land development tax through online like mobile payment, debit or credit card payment or bank transactions from the first day of the Baishak in order to make land development tax realization programme more people-friendly", said the notice.
All the concerned land owners have been requested to pay their land development tax regularly and timely for implementing the cashless land development tax service fully in digital form.
The notice also has asked to collect acknowledgement slip through online tax payment by using web portal- land.gov.bd - following registering name of a particular person.

Earlier, the Land Ministry implemented cashless e-mutation system from October, 2022.
