The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Tuesday urged the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to extend the timeframe for submitting income tax returns till December 31, 2022.
“Many people can't submit the returns within the stipulated timeframe of November 30 due to the existing situation in the financial sector,” read a letter from FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin.
The letter was sent to the Senior Secretary of the Internal Resources Division (IRD) and also to the NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem on Tuesday.
Md Jashim Uddin made the request considering the current global economic situation and bigger challenges now being faced by the industries, trade, and commerce as well as service sectors, the letter states.
