The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has set Tk 3.7 lakh crore revenue collection target for the fiscal year 2022-23, which is 12 per cent higher than the current fiscal year.
In the next fiscal year, Tk 1.221 crore will be collected as income tax, which is 33 per cent of the total revenue collection target, an NBR letter to field offices said on Sunday.
TK 1.369 crore will be collected as Value Added Tax (VAT) duty and Tk 1.11 lakh crore as customs duty. Those are 37 per cent and 30 per cent of total revenue targets respectively, the letter added.
The concerned sub-divisions have been directed to inform the research and statistics division and field level departments about the possibilities, challenges and rationale of revenue collection by Tuesday.
