Tax free income threshold for individuals to remain unchanged at Tk3 lakh in the budget for the fiscal year 2021-22.
According to the Finance Bill 2021-22, tax free income threshold for individual will remain unchanged at Tk3 lakh for the next fiscal year.
In the outgoing budget for fiscal year 2020-21, the government set individual tax at Tk3 lakh.
“You are well aware that the tax-free income ceiling for individual taxpayers has been significantly increased to Tk3 lakh in FY21 from what was only Tk 1.65 lakh in FY10,” Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said in his budget speech in the parliament.
Even, this tax-free ceiling is even higher for the females, senior citizens, physically challenged and the wounded freedom fighters, he added.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal placed a proposed a budget of Tk 603,681 crore for the FY22 in the parliament on Thursday.
