The government has proposed mandatory usage of Tax Identification Number to get approval the design (plan) for house building from the fiscal year 2021-22.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday placed the proposal to expand the tax net of the National Board of Revenue.
“If the proposal is endorsed, investment and revenue collection will increase significantly,” he said.
This was added to the mandatory usage of TIN in existing 36 sectors in the country as per the Income Tax Ordinance.
Mustafa Kamal placed the national budget with an outlay of Tk 6,03,681 crore for the fiscal year 2021-22 in parliament on Thursday.
