2-day innovation fair ends in Rajshahi

A two-day convention dubbed 'Innovation Fair-2023' ended at the Rajshahi College auditorium on Monday with the main call of making the existing public services easier for welfare of the service-receiving public in general.

Ministry of Public Administration and Commissioner Office of Rajshahi division jointly organised the divisional level event projecting and displaying most of the public service related innovations and ideas.

More than 25 district and upazila level offices and institutions from all eight districts under the division showcased various information and documents related to offering public service and elucidating the necessary process of getting those services easily by using IT in 25 stalls.

Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration Amena Begum addressed the closing and prize-giving ceremony as the chief guest with Additional Divisional Commissioner Dr Moksed Ali in the chair.

Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Faruque Hossain, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Saiful Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Shamim Ahmed and Principal of Rajshahi College Professor Abdul Khaleque also spoke on the occasion.

Amena Begum attributed that the country has been advancing towards development quickly as a result of easing the public services.

She also urged all officials and staff concerned to deliver the services to the doorstep of the people, especially the ones located in remote and hard-to-reach areas.

Amena Begum said all the service-delivery officials and staff should be more responsive and dynamic so that the public in general can enjoy the services.

She said Bangladesh is on the cusp of realizing smart Bangladesh under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the premier has taken the county's IT sector to a new height.

On the occasion, three of the participating institutions were awarded for their appreciable projection of new ideas related to easing meteing out public services.

Pabna Palli Bidyut Samity bagged the first prize for developing the device to prevent transformer stealing, while Kamarkhand Upazila Nirbahi office in Sirajganj and Chapainawabganj Deputy Commissioner Office clinched the second and third prizes respectively.
