Banglalink has recently won the “Ookla Speedtest Award” as the fastest mobile network in Bangladesh for the 6th consecutive time in years.
The telecom operator clinched the top spot with a speed score of 23.49 on Ookla’s Speedtest report for Q3-Q4 2022, read a press release on Monday.
The award was handed over to the Banglalink leadership team led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Erik Aas at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
“Winning the prestigious award for the sixth consecutive time in three years is a testament to our consistent focus on network quality. The fastest internet speed has been a core advantage of our network for years, and now with a nationwide presence, many more customers will enjoy all the benefits of our network,” Erik Aas said.
“Ookla's Speedtest Awards recognises the most outstanding fixed broadband and mobile operators across the globe for their unparalleled speed and performance. We are thrilled to present Banglalink the fastest mobile network award in Bangladesh, as their exceptional Q3-Q4 2022 performance has earned them this distinction,” Ookla CEO Doug Suttles said.
Based on millions of results obtained through the Ookla Speedtest app each day, it gives the most accurate and comprehensive view of worldwide network performance, quality, and accessibility.
Banglalink’s nationwide network and most spectrums per customer contributed to winning the award consistently. It expanded its network coverage by around 40 per cent last year, increasing its total sites to more than 14,500.
With its superior network quality and advanced digital services, Banglalink also acquired the highest number of subscribers among all the operators in 2022.
