A bilateral meeting has recently been held between State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Amer Alswaha at Leap VIP Lounge in Riyadh.
They discussed different issues, including the development of the information technology sector of the two countries, especially the investment and education cooperation between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia in the ICT sector, investment in the establishment of smart city and working together on artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, semiconductor and nanotechnology, according to a press release, received here on Thursday.
Palak outlined the implementation of "Digital Bangladesh" under the supervision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the overall progress of the IT sector and the vision of building a “Smart Bangladesh” by 2041 in the meeting.
He said the Bangladesh government wants to work together with Saudi Arabia on digital transformation and building of smart Bangladesh.
The Saudi IT minister expressed his hope to work with Bangladesh in the coming days for the development of the IT sector, read the release.
Earlier, Palak held a meeting with the CEO of Al-Elm Information Security Company Abdulrahman Al-Jadhai in Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, the concept of building a “Smart City” in Bangladesh was discussed.
The state minister is expected to return home on February 10.
