Paramount Group, an India-based textile testing and quality control instruments manufacturer, has expressed its interest in collaborating with BGMEA to strengthen the capability of the Center of Innovation, Efficiency and OSH.
Manjit Singh Saini, chief executive officer and technical director of Paramount Group, showed interest when he paid a visit to Faruque Hassan, president of BGMEA at the BGMEA Complex in Dhaka on Tuesday, a press release said.
They discussed the scope of collaboration, especially how the group could provide support to the center with technologies and technical knowledge about testing and quality control machines and services.
The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is launching the Center of Innovation, Efficiency and OSH to facilitate reskilling of mid-level employees and improve productivity in the apparel industry for tackling the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
With an infrastructure development budget of around $2.5 million, the center will begin operations at 5,000 square feet space in the capital’s BGMEA headquarters in November, association sources told The Business Post.
The facility will not charge for training or services.
