Team Group plans to achieve LEED certification for sister concerns by 2025

Team Group, a Bangladeshi export oriented ready-made garment manufacturer group, has planned to achieve LEED certification for its sister concerns by 2025 from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

Abdullah Hil Rakib, managing director of the group, came up with the announcement at a programme on Monday, a press release said.

The 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd, a sister concern of Team Group, was handed over a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certificate at the event.

On behalf of the USGBC, EnergySolve International Senior Consultant and Chief Executive Officer Mahendra Jayalath handed over the certificate to Rakib, also a director of BGMEA.

Earlier on January 18, the factory got platinum certification with 83 scores out of 100.

According to Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the country has 157 LEED certified RMG factories which is a record in the world.
