Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) president Md Jashim Uddin on Thursday said that Bangladesh can be a manufacturing or production hub in South Asia owing to its geographical location and big consumer market.

He made the remark while addressing a brief on Bangladesh Business Summit 2023 to be held on March 11-13 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in Dhaka.

"Except RMG products, there are a lot of exportable products of Bangladesh. Besides, Bangladesh is now a country with huge investment potential. We would like to address this to foreigners through the three-day-long summit," Jashim added.

He informed that 200 foreign delegates from 17 countries are expected to present at the summit. A total of 755 people already has registered to take part in the programme.

Jashim also said that 17 sessions will be arranged there where investment potential sites will be presented.

“Thirty pavilions will display our exportable products there including RMG, ceramics, leather, and light Engineering products. Bangladesh will be the 9th consumer market in the world by 2030. So, there is a huge investment potential,” he added.

The summit will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 10 am on March 11.

“Our preparation will be completed within Friday,” said Jashim

The event will be open for all and entry is free.
