The Bangladesh has set export target at $43.50 billion from goods for the fiscal year 2021-22 with a 12.23 per cent growth projection.
In the just concluded fiscal year 2020-21, by exporting goods Bangladesh earned $38.75 billion, which is 15.10 per cent higher compared to $33.67 billion in the previous fiscal year.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi made the announcement on Tuesday after a meeting with the stakeholders.
For the RMG sector, the government has set target at $35.14 billion with an 11.72 per cent growth. Of the total amount, $19.51 billion will come from knitwear products, while $15.62 billion from woven products.
