Bangladesh to host Int’l Trade Summit in May

Bangladesh is set to host the 4th International Trade Summit on May 14-15 this year, marking a significant milestone for business development in the region.

The summit, themed “Sustainable Future,” will take place in Dhaka at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. Jointly organised by Bangladesh and India, this prestigious event will convene approximately 500 delegates from over 25 countries worldwide.

The conference, organised by word famous BigMint in collaboration with both nations, and Ahmed Enterprise, Bangladesh, will act as the host of the conference.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun is slated to inaugurate the conference as the chief guest on the noon of May 14 this year. Norwegian ambassador to Bangladesh Espen Rikter‐Svendsen will also attend the summit.

Distinguished guests, including Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) President Mahbubul Alam who will serve as the chief speaker, and esteemed industrialist Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman, recipient of the Ekushey Padak, will deliver the inaugural speech at the conference on the noon.

The schedule and logo of the programme were handed over to the industries minister on Monday at his office in Motijheel by organiser Sumit Agarwal and summit host Dilshad Ahmed.

Presidents from leading associations in the steel, cement, power, and ship recycling sectors will attend as special guests in the event. Prominent industrialists, ministry of industries and ship breakers will also converge to discuss pivotal topics shaping the economic landscape.

The summit will delve into multiple topics critical to Bangladesh’s economic trajectory, including Bangladesh’s Macro Economic Outlook, International Availability of Steel Raw Materials, Flat Steel Market Dynamics, Harnessing the Potential of Green Ship Recycling, Steel and Cement Demand in Infrastructure Growth, Renewable Energy.

The summit demonstrates Bangladesh’s proactive efforts to encourage sustainable economic growth and establish international collaborations.

With its burgeoning industries and commitment to sustainability, Bangladesh emerges as a beacon of opportunity and innovation on the global stage.
