A two-day strike will be observed at all customs houses and customs stations on January 30 and 31 for non-acceptance of various demands including amendment of custom agent licensing rules.
The Federation of Bangladesh Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association has been claiming for a long time that the Customs Agents Licensing Rules 2016 and 2020 contain rules against the fundamental rights of C&F agents. Despite repeated requests to the National Board of Revenue (NBR), no amendment has been brought to the budget.
The federation’s Secretary General Md Sultan Hossain Khan announced the strike in a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Sunday.
