Dhaka Metropolitan Police has allowed the shopping malls and the markets in Dhaka to remain open till 9:00pm maintaining the health guidelines.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner M Shafiqul Islam said that considering the people’s fasting during Ramadan they allowed the markets to remain open till 9:00pm instead of 5:00pm maintaining health guidelines during the coronavirus situation.
Bangladesh Shop Owners Association president Helal Uddin said, ‘We met the DMP commissioner today and discussed about continuing our businesses till 9:00pm. The DMP commissioner said they had no objection to the proposal. We will keep open the markets till 9:00pm from Monday.”
Earlier on April 23, the Cabinet Division issued a circular regarding the fixing open hours of shopping malls and market opening from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
