FBCCI President Jashim Uddin on Saturday urged the government to take the necessary initiative to simplify investment management in all sectors, particularly in the service sector, to meet the challenges post-LDC graduation.

Jashim Uddin made the call at a seminar on “Export Challenges of Bangladesh after Graduation from LDC status: Options for the Private Sector” organised by the apex trade body at its conference room in Dhaka.

The FBCCI president also urged the government to ensure services of electricity and gas in all export-oriented industries, and take the required steps to tackle competition in the global market.

"We have enabled to attain lower middle-income country status in 2015. We will also be able to achieve all our goals through proper policy and work-plan adopting with the international market," he said.

Jashim suggested that the government develop the skill and capacity of BSTI so that Bangladeshi products get access easily to the international market. He also emphasised product diversification.
