Gold prices go up by Tk2,333 per bhori

Jewellers have increased the gold prices by Tk 2,333 per bhori (11.664g), taking the price of a bhori of 22-carat gold to Tk 82,465.

The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) on Saturday announced the latest hike in all types of gold prices as the rate of pure gold went up in the local market, according to a press release.

The revised prices will come into effect from Sunday until further notice, the association said.

According to the new rate, 22-carat gold will cost Tk 82,465 per bhori, which was Tk 80,132 a bhori previously.

Besides, the local market will sell 21-carat gold at Tk 78,732, instead of Tk 76,516 and 18-carat gold at Tk 67,476 which was sold at Tk 65,552 a bhori earlier.

The price for traditional method gold has been set at Tk 55,521 per bhori.

However, BAJUS has kept the price of silver unchanged.
