Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) on Saturday announced to increase the prices of gold by Tk 1,283 per bhori (11.664g) ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, just five days after the organisation reduced the prices of the precious metal.

BAJUS increased the prices as the rate of pure gold went up in the local market, read a press release, adding that the revised prices will be effective from Sunday.

From now on, 22-carat gold will cost Tk 98,444, which was Tk 97,161 per bhori previously.

According to the new price, 21-carat has been increased by Tk 1,225 to Tk 93,954 up from Tk 92,729 per bhori.

The price of 18-carat gold has gone up by Tk 1,050 to Tk 80,540, which was Tk 79,490 per bhori previously. And traditional gold price has been increased by Tk 874 to Tk 67,126 up from Tk 66,252 per bhori.

Unlike gold, the price of silver has been kept unchanged. The price of 22-carat silver is Tk 1,715 per bhori.
