The government has reduced the price of loose palm oil by Tk 3 per litre.
Confirming the matter to The Business Post, AHM Shafiquzzaman, additional secretary to the Ministry of Commerce, said the price was set on Tuesday after a meeting between the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (BVORVMA) and the officials of the ministry.
Meanwhile, the association also issued a press release saying that the price of per litre palm oil has been reduced to Tk 130.

Earlier on March 20, the Commerce Ministry has decided to cut the price of bottled soybean oil by Tk 8 per litre. The price of bottled soybean oil will now be Tk 160 per litre as per the government decision.
The price of five-litre of bottled soybean oil has been set at Tk 760, while per litre loose soybean oil at Tk 136.
