Rice imports from India have resumed through Hili land port in Dinajpur after 10 months.
Confirming the matter, Hili Customs C&F Agents Association President Abdur Rahman Liton said 105 tonnes of rice were imported on Saturday after the import permission was received.
AK Trading and Shiti Flour Mill imported the consignment of rice through the port in the afternoon, he added.

Harun-ur-Rashid, president of Hili Land Port Import-Export Group, said the government stopped the import of Indian rice on August 31 last year to ensure the market price of domestic produce.
On June 30 this year, the government gave conditional permission to 95 importers to import rice from India to keep the rice market stable, he said.
