Soybean, palm oil prices to drop from Sunday

The Ministry of Commerce on Thursday decreased the maximum retail price (MRP) of soybean oil by Tk 3 per litre and the price of palm oil by Tk 4 per litre.

The revised prices would be effective from December 18 (Sunday), read a ministry notification.

With the fresh revision, the prices per litre of loose and packaged soybean oil will be Tk 167 and Tk 187, respectively. The price of each litre of loose palm oil will be Tk 117, which was previously Tk 121.

Each 5-litre bottle of soybean oil will now cost Tk 906, which was previously Tk 925. The new prices have been set following a meeting on Tuesday, the notification read.
