Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has expressed hope that digital business IDs will help clamp down on fraudulent activities in the e-commerce sector.
“The e-commerce sector has come under a new method through providing digital business IDs,” he said while inaugurating a unique business identification registration app at the conference room of the Ministry of Commerce on Sunday.
The minister said the government is making efforts to solve the problems of the consumers who have been deceived in e-commerce.
Under the new innitiative, all e-commerce platforms on websites or social media will need to register through the app to do business.
“Besides, the government has also taken action against individuals who duped the customers.”
