BB extends banking hours during coronavirus shutdown

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has extended banking hours by half an hour to facilitate transaction amid countrywide shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Banks will therefore remain open from 10am to 1pm for transaction from Sunday. 

The central bank on Thursday (April 16) issued a notification in this regard.

This new schedule will remain effective from April 19 until further notice, it said.

Bank transactions were running from 10am to 12:30pm for last few days after a BB notification issued on April 9 asked the banks to follow so.
