Coronavirus: Global death toll reaches 238,650

The global death toll from the novel coronavirus infection reached 238,650 as of Saturday morning, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally.

So far, 3,343,777 cases have been confirmed around the world after Covid-19, the disease caused by the new strain of coronavirus, was first reported in China in December last year.

Of them, 2,079,801 are currently being treated and 51,355 of them are in serious or critical condition, says worldometer.

So far, 1,053,327 people have recovered.

In Bangladesh, two more people died of Covid-19 in the country over the last 24 hours as of Friday, taking the death toll to 170. Besides, 571 more people tested positive which makes 8231 confirmed cases in total.
