Banking hours extended further to 2.30 pm

In order to curb the transmission of novel coronavirus in the country, the bangladesh bank has extended the banking hours by 30 minutes to 2.30 pm once again, which will be effective from May 10 amid the ongoing general holidays.

According to a circular issued by the Department of Off-site Supervision of the central bank on Tuesday, customers will be able to carry out their transactions from 10 am to 2.30 pm starting from May 10.

However, banking hours on Thursdays will be limited to 2 pm.

BB said this revised schedule includes a prayer break of 15 minutes from 1:15 pm. It has already been sent to the heads of all banking institutions.

But banks will remain open for its staff members until 3.30 pm to finish their daily official tasks.

This new schedule will remain effective until further notice, the circular said.
