Govt staffers to get pension three days into application

Retired government officials and employees have to go through a number of steps to collect their pension money due to bureaucratic tangles.  

In order to ease that suffering, the finance ministry has issued the Pension Facilitation Order, 2020, stating that pension will be paid into the bank account of the pensioner within three working days into submission of the bill.

A new circular signed on March 19 has been published on the finance ministry's website on Tuesday.

To get this facility, provision has been made to submit eight documents which can be downloaded from the finance department’s website. 

These are: Expected Last Salary Certificate (ELPC) (Annexure-1), Valid Inheritance Declaration of Pension Received (Annexure-2), Certificate of Inheritance and Non-Marriage Certificate (Annexure-3), Pension Form 2.1 (Annexure-4), Family Pension Form 2.2 (Annexure-5), Sample Signature and Five Fingerprints (Annexure-6), Certificate of Empowerment and Guardian Nomination for Withdrawal of Inheritance and Retirement (Annexure-7), and Non-Claim Certificate (Annexure-8).

All concerned are requested to use the forms, certificates and documents for disposal of pension applications, said the circular.

In February, the finance ministry issued the Pension Facilitation Order, 2020, directing the quick disposal of pension applications of government employees.
