Global deaths from Covid-19 reach 276,863

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection reached 3,937,813 all over the world as of Saturday (May 9) morning, according to the Johns Hopkins University data.

A total of 276,863 deaths were recorded globally due to Covid-19 since the disease, caused by the new strain of coronavirus, was first reported in China in December last year.

Although cases of new infection keep growing among the infected world population currently, 98 percent are in mild condition.

Bangladesh saw another jump in the coronavirus cases as 709 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infected people to 13,134.
