Govt to take steps to recoup losses, says fisheries & livestock minister

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has said the government will take all necessary steps to recoup the losses, caused by coronavirus outbreak, in the Fisheries and Livestock sector.

“The government has taken a massive plan to provide all-out necessary assistance including, financial assistance, loan, intensive and technical help, to the farmers, farm owners and commercial entrepreneurs,” he said.

The minister came up with the information while speaking at a view-exchange meeting with the official concerned of the Ministry, from his residence through online in the city on Sunday.

Rezaul also urged the officials concerned of the ministry to perform their duties with highest honesty and sincerity.

Expressing concern over the post-coronavirus situation, the Minister also asked the officials concerned to perform their duties in both offices and field level to ensure the nonstop production of fish, meat, milk and egg.

He also directed to take necessary steps to take all under the mobile stalls so that people can easily purchase fish, milk, meat and egg.
